This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it's processed, and what your rights are when you use VisaMap.
1. What We Collect
VisaMap collects the following information when you use the product:

- Uploaded documents, such as:
- Resumes or CVs
- Letters of recommendation
- Press articles or publications
- Research papers
- Employment offers or award letters
These materials help us generate your personalized Visa Scorecard and Lawyer Packet.
2. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used only to:
- Generate a visa eligibility scorecard
- Create a downloadable briefing packet you can share with an immigration lawyer
- Improve your user experience while using the product
3. No Data Retention of Uploaded Files
- We do not store any uploaded documents. Your files are processed in-memory (RAM) and permanently discarded after parsing.
- Once we've generated your results:
- Your resume and supporting documents are deleted immediately
- We do not retain files, summaries, or parsed content on our servers
4. AI Usage & OpenAI Integration
VisaMap uses large language models (LLMs), including those provided by OpenAI, to process your information.
We have taken the following precautions:
- Prompt and completion sharing with OpenAI is disabled
- OpenAI API call logging is disabled
- We do not submit your data for model training or research
- Only the information needed to generate your scorecard is sent, and it is never retained.
5. Analytics & Feedback
We may collect anonymous usage data to improve the VisaMap product. This may include:
- Feature usage (e.g. which steps are completed)
- Time to complete the form
- Feedback you provide voluntarily
- Non-personally identifiable input patterns that help us improve future recommendations
By using VisaMap, you consent to allow us to learn from your anonymized inputs to improve the quality, consistency, and accuracy of VisaMap's recommendations. No personal data, uploaded documents, or identifiable information will ever be shared or sold.
6. Anonymized Data
To improve VisaMap's accuracy and performance, we may analyze anonymized data from your inputs — such as resume structure, supporting document formats, and form responses — after all personal identifiers have been removed.
This data may be used to:
- Improve visa scoring accuracy
- Enhance the user experience
- Train future versions of VisaMap's strategy models
We never retain uploaded documents or PII. All anonymized analysis is conducted in-memory, with no personal information stored or shared.
